You can purchase a high quality 3D CAD model of the iPad 2 from 3D Scan Services, LLC. Our model was generated from a high resolution laser scan of an actual Apple iPad 2, at an accuracy of +/- .005". Our engineers fully reverse engineered the scan model to create an idealized, fully parametric CAD model with a full feature tree. Every button, every angle and every dimension in this CAD model is virtually the same as an actual iPad 2.

We include the following file formats in our iPad 2 model package: STL, STEP, U3D, SAT, WRL, IGES, X_T, Pro/Engineer's PRT, and Solidworks' SLDPRT. All for one low price!

You can use these CAD files to create covers or other accessories for the iPad. In addition, we allow you to try it out before you buy it by providing a free "eDrawings" file available for you to download (see link below, note that you will need to "unzip" the eDrawing file). An eDrawings file is essentially a "read only" version of a CAD model. You can download this file along with the free eDrawings Viewer (see link below) and verify exactly what the model looks like.
